The Stock Exchange Palace in March 1928
The photography captures the image of the
building that, starting with 1911, was the residence
of the
Stock Exchange.
The central element of this image is not the
building though (from which we can see only a small
piece of the façade), but the crowd. Unlike the rest
of the relational areas, the Stock Exchange is a
privilege of the masculine society. It is not a
dynamic space, but a place of discussions, as well
as the boulevard.
The element that ensures the heterogeneity of this
image is the newspaper salesman, the only one that
catches the eye of the photographer.
